The opportunity

How do you turn a croissant sales claim into a story people want to experience?

What we did

MMBSY distributed over 1,000 croissants at stations in Brussels and Antwerp, in simple bags marked “SORRY” to spark curiosity.

The unbranded brown bags deliberately withheld the explanation. Distributed during the morning rush hour, they turned an apology for not having tried Lidl’s croissants into a conversation starter, with product sampling at the heart of the idea.

The outcome

All croissants were handed out in under 30 minutes, creating a sampling moment that also earned press attention.

The campaign’s visual simplicity helped the station activation become an easily shared media story.
